How does it work?
You can choose from six different Vedge-Bags. Whether you’re in the mood for the real Foodmaker classics, would prefer our pre-packed organic meals full of vegetables or fancy trying something new from our vegan range... we have something for everyone and every taste. Do you enjoy cooking your meals yourself, or do you want to save yourself the time and trouble? Don’t worry, we have options for every lifestyle.
Select one (or more) of our Vedge-Bags to put them in your shopping trolley. Don’t forget to select a delivery date! When you’re ready to pay click on ‘Checkout’ in the shopping trolley. When you’ve paid you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us. And then on delivery day morning you will receive another e-mail confirming the time the courier will be arriving.
The courier will place your Vedge-Bag(s) (carefully) on your doorstep – normally he or she would ring the bell, but in view of the COVID-19 situation signing for the delivery is not necessary. The courier will do that at the moment.
Why should I buy a Foodmaker Vedge-Bag?
Tasty and healthy food at home – how good is that? As making healthy food accessible to everyone is our fervent commitment, these Vedge-Bags fit perfectly in our philosophy. Whenever possible our vegetables and herbs come straight from our own organic fields or local growers. All the other ingredients are of the best and purest quality! No preservatives, no flavour enhancers, no mayonnaise, added sugar or other bullshit. All our products are made by hand every day in our own central kitchen and then delivered to your door. Healthy food is essential. Our Chefs make it exceptional by creating the most amazing tastes and combinations.
Can you adapt my Vedge-Bag to my personal preference?
People who dislike particular dishes or are allergic to specific ingredients regularly ask us if their order can be adapted to suit. As we are in our start-up phase at the moment our answer must, unfortunately, be: ‘No, not yet’. Hopefully that will change soon – it is planned to be the next step for our Vedge-Bags. So it goes without saying that we are working as hard as possible to make more personalised ordering possible. Make sure you keep a check on our offering!
Do you have gluten-free and/or low carbohydrate Vedge-Bags?
Given the circumstances we have opted to make our current basic range available as soon as possible. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we are doing our utmost to broaden our offering so that in the very near future we will have solutions for different specific dietary requirements and preferences. It is 100% our intention to offer many variations very soon, so keep watching this space!
What is the shelf-life of the Vedge-Bags?
Naturally the shelf-life varies from Vedge-Bag to Vedge-Bag, but the minimum shelf-life of our products is five days. In other words: if the Vedge-Bag is delivered on a Wednesday, the Foodmaker dishes will be good to eat until the following Monday. The Best Before date is stated as standard on the packaging of the individual dishes.
What’s in a Vedge-Bag?
Check the different Vedge-Bag menus. Every menu lists what’s in the bag. As soon as we can all get back to work you can reuse the cool coolbag as a lunch bag.
Where do the ingredients come from?
We use locally-produced ingredients whenever possible. Our herbs and some of the vegetables come from our own organic fields with a certificate from the Biocyclische-Veganlandbouw (Biocyclic-Vegan Agriculture) network. Whether they are harvested in our own fields or purchased locally, our vegetables and other ingredients are always handled with a lot of love and the greatest care. We subject every link in our chain to the most stringent hygiene controls, both internally and externally.
Are the Foodmaker products organic?
Achieving the combination of local, seasonal and organic is sometimes a tough challenge. Which is why we remain realistic and whenever possible offer organic products. But whether or not our products are organic, our ingredients are always 100% natural. With good reason, because our delicious fresh vegetables don’t need any preservatives, flavours or sugars added to make them great. And neither do you!
Are there vegan and vegetarian offerings?
Yes, at Foodmaker we have something for everyone. We have both vegetarian and vegan dishes, but we are also happy to serve you a piece of responsible meat or fish. Naturally always with delicious vegetables. In view of the exceptional circumstances at the moment we wanted to get our Vedge-Bags to you as soon as possible so in this first phase we are offering just a basic range. It is 100% our intention to offer many more vegan and vegetarian variations in the very near future, so keep watching this space!

The Vedge-bag and Covid-19
How do you deliver safely?
We do everything possible to deliver our Vedge-Bags safely. Our delivery van is completely disinfected after every journey. The boxes are loaded into the van in accordance with all safety guidelines and measures. The driver places your Vedge-Bag on your doorstep and then steps well back from the door. As soon as you have received your Vedge-Bag the driver signs the delivery note and then we also send you an e-mail. If there are any problems, or if you have any feedback for us, please call or e-mail or simply fill in the contact form and send it to us.
How do you guarantee hygienic packaging and transport?
As a food company we are obliged to impose the most stringent hygiene standards on ourselves. We’re not just saying that: scoring 98.68% for our IFS audit (International Food Standard) this year is confirmation of our high hygiene demands. We also maintain a strict separation between our kitchens and the logistics zone. This means the food never comes into direct contact with our packers and logistics employees. At the moment we are implementing extra measures that are aimed primarily at avoiding direct contact between our employees. For example, every work station in the kitchens has been given more space so the guidelines for social distancing can be applied correctly. To date food has not been identified as a source of, or manner in which, the virus is transmitted. In addition, coronaviruses are not very environment-resistant. These viruses are quickly deactivated when they hit surfaces. So, being infected with the coronavirus via food is very unlikely based on current knowledge and it cannot be demonstrated by science.
Do you deliver throughout the Netherlands?
Almost! We deliver from Groningen to the tip of Limburg and from the top of North-Holland to the bottom of southern Zeeland. Because our products are ultra fresh delivery to the Wadden Islands is unfortunately not possible.
When do I pay?
As soon as you have finished selecting your Vedge-Bag(s), click on ‘Checkout’ to go to the overview of your shopping trolley and pay for your order. You always pay at the time you order your Vedge-Bag, this is the only way we can guarantee the most efficient delivery.
How can I pay?
We support all the common payment methods including iDeal, Bancontact, PayPal, Visa and Mastercard. If you wish to use an online payment method that is not offered please contact us – we can generally add the payment method immediately.
How does Foodmaker guarantee I can pay securely?
Foodmaker uses a third party (Adyen) to secure your payment and the processing of your payment details. This third party guarantees the payment will be processed in accordance with the applicable legislation.
How is a refund made?
If for any reason you are entitled to a refund we will ask you in an appropriate manner to supply your order details (order number) and the last four digits of your payment details. This will enable us to track your unique payment and make the refund. The amount due will then appear in your account within three days. Foodmaker will never ask you for your (full) personal payment details or your pin code!
